Mulika Wabakaji Campaign Consortium

Campaign Launch Details

Mulika Wabakaji campaign consortium comprises of organizations working on Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), from the Civil Society, Religious and inter-religious sector, donor community and development partners, government institutions and agencies, individuals, the community members, and human rights institutions in Kenya. It was established with an overall goal of increasing conviction of perpetrators of rape and defilement.

Mulika Wabakaji campaign aims to raise awareness on sexual and gender-based violence. With a strong focus on collaboration with relevant stakeholders, it aims to increase accountability of perpetrators of rape and defilement and shape the public narrative on Sexual and Gender Based Violence.

The She Main Table currently coordinates this 3-year national campaign.

Defenders Coalition

Defenders Coalition, the National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders – Kenya is a national organization incorporated in the Republic of Kenya as a Trust.

Its mission is to strengthen the capacity of human rights defenders (HRDs) to work effectively in the country and to reduce their vulnerability to the risk of persecution, including by advocating for a favourable legal and policy environment in Kenya.

The Alliance for Lawyers at Risk

The Alliance for Lawyers at Risk is an independent UK-based pro-bono network, founded in 2010, that provides moral and legal support to lawyers and human rights activists working in precarious circumstances. The Alliance supports the work of PBI and other organisations.

The Alliance was founded in 2010 by former high court of appeal Sir Henry Brooke and is currently under the leadership of Sir Patrick Elias. Since 2021 it has been providing legal expertise, protection and support to the human rights activists around the world.

Africans Rising

Africans Rising is a Pan-African movement of people and organisations, working for peace, justice and dignity. They are determined to foster an Africa-wide solidarity and unity of purpose of the Peoples of Africa to build the Future they want – a right to peace, social inclusion and shared prosperity.

Africans Rising amplifies broad demands connecting struggles, building solidarity and cooperation within and amongst campaigns for social, economic, environmental and gender justice. They do this with movements, people, civil society organisations, governments, artists, business, and others – based on their shared support for the Kilimanjaro Declaration.
